Tall Zira'a, Archaeological tell in Wadi al-Arab, Jordan.
The archaeological site stretches across 200 meters in diameter and rises 25 meters above the surrounding terrain at an elevation of 17 meters below sea level.
The settlement spans 5,000 years of continuous occupation from the Early Bronze Age through the Islamic period, representing multiple civilizations in northern Jordan.
Excavations have revealed cylinder seals, ceremonial vessels, and everyday items that demonstrate the intersection of Syrian and Palestinian cultural influences.
The German Protestant Institute of Archaeology and Biblical-Archaeological Institute Wuppertal conduct research programs at the site under royal patronage.
An artesian spring at the center of the tell supplied water to inhabitants throughout millennia, creating favorable conditions for extended human settlement.
