Yao

Located east of central Osaka, Yao spans across 41.71 square kilometers and features residential neighborhoods, commercial zones, and mountain landscapes near Mount Takayasu.

Established as a municipality on April 1st, 1948, Yao evolved from an agricultural settlement into a modern industrial center within the Nakakawachi district.

The Kawachi-ondo Museum preserves and exhibits the traditional narrative style of Bon dance that originated in this region of Osaka Prefecture.

The Kintetsu Railways connect Yao Station to central Osaka, while the Tourist Information Center provides bicycle rentals for exploring local attractions.

Kenshoji Temple represents one of the historical jinaichou communities, which were self-governing Buddhist settlements maintaining their own administrative systems.
