Seikei University is a research university in the Kichijoji district of Musashino, located in western Tokyo. The campus spreads across several blocks with lecture halls, libraries, and sports facilities connected by tree-lined pathways.
Educator Nakamura Haruji founded the institution in 1906 as a private school in northern Tokyo. The school gained full university status in 1949 and expanded its faculties and research centers over the following decades.
The university maintains zelkova trees throughout its grounds, connecting the educational environment with traditional Japanese landscaping principles.
The campus sits about a ten-minute walk from Kichijoji Station and is accessible through several entrances. Visitors should note that some buildings are restricted to students and staff, while other areas such as the library may be open to the public.
