Inokashira Park Zoo

Inokashira Park Zoo consists of two main sections: a zoo area housing monkeys and squirrels, and an aquatic center for water species. The enclosures are designed for clear viewing, making it easy to observe animals throughout your visit.

The facility opened in 1942 during World War II, making it one of Tokyo's oldest zoos. Since then, it has remained committed to preserving native and Asian animal species.

The zoo centers on animals from Japan and Asia, helping visitors learn about regional wildlife through direct observation. Many species shown here live in nearby habitats, making the visit a window into local nature.

The zoo is located about 10 minutes on foot from Kichijoji Station, making it easy to reach by train. Wear comfortable walking shoes and check weather before visiting, as some paths can be muddy during rain.
