善福寺, Buddhist temple in Suginami, Japan
Zenpukuji Temple features a standing wooden statue of Amida Buddha, recognized as a registered cultural property of Suginami Ward in Tokyo.
Originally established as a small hermitage of the Pure Land Buddhist sect named Muryozan Fukujuan, the temple became affiliated with Kansenji Temple in 1709.
The temple maintains traditional Buddhist practices and houses historical stone monuments, including a commemorative stone tablet from 1334 and a stone statue from 1727.
Visitors can reach the temple within 13 minutes on foot from Kamishinsuji Station or 21 minutes from Kamiiikusa Station, with multiple parking options available.
The temple grounds contain gravestones of former head priests from its Pure Land Buddhist period, marking the evolution of religious practices through centuries.
