Nakama

Nakama is a city in Fukuoka Prefecture that stretches along the Onga River, split into two districts with different characters. The eastern side contains most residential neighborhoods, while the western area features farming and open land.

The area began as a village in 1889 and gradually developed into a town before becoming an official city in 1958. This progression shows how the region grew from farmland into an organized urban community.

The community centers around schools and public spaces that serve as gathering points for residents. Local parks and the river area function as places where people naturally meet and spend time together.

Most shops and services are located in the eastern side, making it easy to find what you need. The western area is less developed and better for exploring natural surroundings and farmland.

The Roofless Museum near the station displays international sculptures in an open-air format, creating an unusual gallery experience. Habu Park attracts visitors with its cherry blossom trees that bloom seasonally throughout the grounds.
