Ota, Industrial city in Gunma Prefecture, Japan
Located between the Tone and Watarase rivers, Ota spans 175 square kilometers in the southeastern part of Gunma Prefecture, 80 kilometers from Tokyo.
The region contained two main post stations along the Nikko Reiheishi Kaido during the Edo period, connecting the Nakasendo route directly to Nikko.
Daikoin Temple, established in 1618 at the base of Mount Kanayama, serves as a religious center and provides educational programs for the local community.
The Tobu Isesaki line express train connects Ota to Asakusa station in Tokyo with a journey duration of 90 minutes.
Multiple Subaru manufacturing plants operate in Ota, continuing the industrial legacy that began with aircraft production by Nakajima Aircraft Company.
