Ryugasaki, Educational hub in Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan.

Ryugasaki extends across 78.59 square kilometers of flatlands south of Lake Kasumigaura, with the Kokai River flowing through its western section.

The northern section of Ryugasaki functioned as an administrative exclave of Sendai Domain during the Edo period before becoming a city in 1954.

The Ryugasaki Industrial Festival and Regional Corn Festival highlight the agricultural products and crafts from local producers throughout the year.

The city maintains eleven public elementary schools, six middle schools, and several high schools, serving a population of 75,212 residents.

Lake Ushiku, located within the city boundaries, transforms into a winter sanctuary for migrating swans each year.
