Kikugawa

Kikugawa is a city in Shizuoka Prefecture that sits on the Makinohara Plateau, combining tea fields, residential neighborhoods, and natural waterways across its span. The Kikugawa River runs through the center, creating a natural dividing line between different quarters of the city.

The city took its current form in 2005 when Kikugawa Town and Ogasa Town merged into a single administrative entity. This consolidation reshaped local governance and created the expanded territory that visitors see today.
