Tsumagoi Resort Sai no Sato, Resort complex with hotel and onsen in Kakegawa, Japan.
Tsumagoi Resort Sai no Sato is a complex with accommodations, thermal baths and sports facilities in Kakegawa that covers extensive grounds. The site includes rooms in several buildings, a forest house with indoor baths and a separate building for events and physical activities.
The complex opened in spring 2017 and brought a large thermal bathing facility with overnight stays to this area. The facility later expanded its offer to include sports courts and spaces for gatherings.
The resort's Forest Onsen facility provides visitors with authentic Japanese bathing experiences through twenty different bath types, including outdoor pools amid natural scenery.
The grounds lie over a kilometer south of the main road and are easiest to reach by car or taxi from Kakegawa station. The bathing houses open in late morning and close in the evening, while the front desk receives new guests between afternoon and early evening.
One area of the forest house holds shelves filled with Japanese comics, so visitors can browse through hundreds of volumes between bathing sessions. This collection allows a quiet moment with a popular Japanese form of reading.
