Tsubata, Residential town in Kahoku district, Japan
Tsubata extends across 110 square kilometers of varied terrain, including mountains, hills, and lowlands near the center of Ishikawa Prefecture.
The town of Tsubata was established in 1889 and underwent several mergers with neighboring villages between 1954 and 1957.
Every October, residents participate in Makomo-nage, where they throw long makomo leaves as far as possible during a traditional competition.
The town contains nine elementary schools, two middle schools, and maintains direct train connections to Kanazawa through the Nanao Line.
Four municipal mascots named Yoshinaka-kun, Tomoe-chan, Ka-kun, and Mo-chan represent the town, drawing inspiration from the Genpei War period.
