Tsukubamirai

Tsukubamirai extends across 79 square kilometers of flatlands south of Lake Kasumigaura, with elevations ranging between 5 and 25 meters above sea level.

The municipal organization of Tsukubamirai emerged from the merger of Ina town and Yawara village on March 27, 2006, transforming the agricultural region into a suburban area.

The Kinugawa and Kokaigawa rivers flow through the city's territory, contributing to its traditional role as a rice production center in the Tsukuba District.

The city connects to central Tokyo through the Tsukuba Express railway line and Joban Expressway, making it accessible for the population of 51,035 residents.

The eastern and western sections of Tsukubamirai present a distinct topographical contrast with their hilly terrain compared to the central marshy flatlands.
