CupNoodles Museum Osaka Ikeda, Food museum in Masumichō, Japan

The CupNoodles Museum Osaka Ikeda is a food museum in Masumichō, Japan, spread across several floors that explore different aspects of instant noodle production. The rooms contain display panels, models, and interactive stations that explain the path from raw dough to finished product.

The museum opened in 1999 by Nissin Food Products to mark the invention of instant noodles by company founder Momofuku Ando in 1958. The original workshop where the first packages of Chicken Ramen were made is now part of the exhibition.

The museum takes its name from one of the most successful snacks of the 20th century and shows how a simple dish of flour and spices became the foundation for millions of meals around the world. Visitors see how flavors and packaging adapted to local tastes across Asia, Europe and America.

At the My CUPNOODLES Factory, visitors can design their own noodle package by choosing from several soup bases and toppings. The custom packages can be taken home after the visit.

The Instant Noodles Tunnel displays around 800 different packages along the walls in rows, including long discontinued varieties and designs from the early years. The collection shows how colors, fonts, and illustrations changed over the decades.
