Xebec, Animation studio in Kokubunji, Tokyo, Japan
Xebec was a Japanese animation studio located in Kokubunji, a western area of Tokyo, producing television series and original video releases across multiple genres. The company developed projects spanning science fiction, comedy, and romance, working together with other production houses throughout its years of activity.
A group of animators who previously worked at Tatsunoko Production founded the company in May 1995. The facility transferred entirely to Sunrise, another Japanese animation studio, in 2019.
The studio produced numerous series across different genres, including Space Battleship Yamato remakes, Martian Successor Nadesico, and To Love Ru.
The series produced by the company are now available through several digital platforms offering Japanese animation content worldwide. Many of these productions come with subtitles in multiple languages, allowing a broad audience to watch them.
The company operated a subdivision called Xebec M2, which focused on animation assistance and produced independent series such as Petopeto-san. This smaller unit allowed the studio to pursue additional projects alongside its main productions.
