Hollywood Dream – The Ride, Roller coaster at Universal Studios Japan
Hollywood Dream – The Ride is a steel coaster at Universal Studios Japan in Osaka that reaches speeds of 89 kilometers per hour. The track climbs to a height of 44 meters before plunging down through several steep drops.
The coaster opened its doors on March 9, 2007, and was the first major thrill attraction of its kind at Universal Studios Japan. It brought a new generation of excitement to the theme park and set standards for future installations.
Each passenger chooses a soundtrack from several songs before departure, which plays through personal speakers throughout the entire ride. This combination of music and movement connects Japanese entertainment culture with the classic thrill of a coaster.
Visitors must be at least 132 centimeters tall to board, and the ride lasts about three minutes. Each train holds 36 seats spread across multiple cars.
The track features both silver trains that face forward and red trains that run backward on the same rail system. Both versions use identical rails and offer two completely different ride experiences on the same course.
