Hakui

Hakui is a coastal city in Ishikawa Prefecture located along the Sea of Japan with a relatively low population density spread across the area. The city features several neighborhoods connected by the local railway line that runs through its territory.

Hakui developed as a settlement in ancient times and is home to the Keta Taisha shrine, the primary Shinto sanctuary of Noto Province. This shrine was established during the reign of Emperor Kogen and has remained significant throughout the centuries.

The name comes from a legend about Prince Iwatsuku defeating a giant bird, with his dogs pulling feathers from its body and the place being named in memory of this event.

The city is well connected by a local railway line with multiple stations serving different areas of town. Visitors can easily navigate the region and access basic facilities and services spread throughout the area.

The Cosmo Isle Hakui Space and UFO Museum displays genuine NASA artifacts and Soviet space mission materials. The museum also documents reported UFO sightings, offering an unexpected collection focused on space history at this quiet coastal location.
