Komatsushima

Komatsushima is a coastal city on the eastern edge of Tokushima Prefecture, stretching along the Kii Channel with mountains bordering its inland areas. The municipality is served by multiple schools and connected by railway lines and national routes.

The site gained strategic importance during the Genpei War when military leaders used it as a landing point for campaigns against rival clans. This early role as a military harbor shaped its growth as a significant coastal settlement.
