Fukusaki

Fukusaki is an administrative town in Hyogo Prefecture located in Kanzaki district. The area spreads across flat terrain with residential neighborhoods, farmland, and a central zone featuring the museum and recreational parks.

The area belonged to Harima Province and was controlled by Himeji Domain during the Edo Period. Modern administration took shape through territorial changes that followed in the following centuries.

The local museum displays the work of folklorist Kunio Yanagita and presents exhibits on regional traditions and Japanese folklore. These collections reveal how people here connect with their past through storytelling and everyday customs.

Trains on the JR West Bantan Line connect this town to Himeji Station in about 30 minutes. Visiting during warmer months makes exploring the outdoor areas and parks more comfortable.

Artistic benches and mechanical sculptures depicting yokai spirits appear scattered throughout the streets and Tsujikawayama Park. This creative public art installation turns everyday spaces into an outdoor gallery for visitors to discover.
