Naraha, Town in Futaba district, Fukushima Prefecture, Japan
Naraha is a town in the Futaba district of eastern Fukushima Prefecture. It features residential neighborhoods, schools, and community facilities that serve the local population.
The area was part of Mutsu Province during the Edo period and formed as a modern town in 1889 when the villages of Kido and Tatsuta merged. This union created the foundation that shaped the community over subsequent decades.
The town maintains traditional Japanese community practices through local gatherings, seasonal celebrations, and educational programs that connect residents with their heritage.
The town connects to major urban centers through the JR East Joban Line railway and the Joban Expressway. These transportation links provide flexible access for both residents and visitors.
The J-Village sports complex in Naraha served as the training base for Argentina's national football team during the 2002 FIFA World Cup. This role gave the town a notable place in international sports history.
