Phnom Tamao Wildlife Rescue Centre, Wildlife rescue centre in Bati District, Cambodia
The rescue centre spans 2,025 hectares of deciduous forest and houses over 1,200 animals from 102 different species, including tigers and elephants.
Founded in 1995, the center transformed from 1,758 hectares of degraded forest into 2,162 hectares of protected land by 2017 through conservation efforts.
The facility integrates local Cambodian food experiences with fresh fish, chicken, crab, shrimp dishes, and traditional drinks like coconut and sugarcane juice.
Entry fees remain accessible at 5 dollars for adults and 2 dollars for children, with maps and guides available throughout the premises.
The center maintains the largest group of rescued Malayan sun bears worldwide, with over 130 bears living in a dedicated sanctuary since 1997.
