Anak Tomb No. 3

The chamber tomb features detailed wall paintings across multiple chambers, depicting numerous figures engaged in daily activities and ceremonial processions.

Discovered in 1949, the tomb contains a seven-line epitaph dating to 357 CE, identifying its occupant as Dong Shou, a general from the Xianbei state.

The murals inside the tomb display elements of both Korean and Chinese influences through the clothing styles and architectural details of the period.

The tomb requires advance arrangements with local authorities for visits, as access to archaeological sites in North Korea follows specific regulations.

The eastern chamber contains an exceptional mural showing 250 individual figures in a procession, revealing details about social hierarchies in Goguryeo society.
