Haeundae LCT The Sharp is a 411-meter skyscraper in Busan with 101 floors housing a hotel, apartments, retail shops, and an entertainment complex with spa amenities. The ground levels feature shopping areas and dining options that serve both residents and visitors.
Construction started in October 2013 and finished in November 2019, making it South Korea's second tallest structure. The tower became part of a larger development trend transforming Busan's waterfront into a modern mixed-use district.
The name combines LCT, for the Haeundae Tourist Resort project, with The Sharp, POSCO's apartment brand. The podium holds Club D Oasis, a hot spring spa and water park, and the landmark tower's 3rd to 19th floors house Signiel Busan, Lotte's top hotel brand. In 2022 the complex hosted Proof, an exhibition on BTS's nine-year career planned by HYBE.
The observation deck on the 100th floor provides views across the city and coastline. Retail shops and facilities on lower levels are easily accessible to the public without entering residential areas.
The two observation-deck lifts to Busan X the Sky, on floors 98 to 100, run at 600 metres per minute and screen video inside: a hot-air balloon rising on the way up, a submarine diving on the way down. The complex has 43 lifts in total, supplied by Mitsubishi Elevator Korea.
