Alytus, Administrative center in southern Lithuania
The city extends along both banks of the Nemunas River, containing numerous parks, industrial zones, and residential districts across an elevation of 93 meters.
During World War I in 1915, Russian forces destroyed the railway bridge, leading to the construction of the current White Rose pedestrian bridge across the Nemunas River.
The municipal coat of arms displays a white rose symbol, connecting the city's identity to the grand pedestrian bridge that spans across the Nemunas River.
Alytus Arena functions as a major sports facility in the region, providing space for basketball games, concerts, and community gatherings throughout the year.
