Church of the Holy Guardian Angels, Alytus

The Church of the Holy Guardian Angels is a Catholic building in central Alytus with a Latin cross layout and rectangular apse that combines Neoclassical and Neo-Baroque styles. The site includes a cemetery with numerous graves and monuments marking the grounds.

The building was constructed in 1830 to replace a chapel from the 17th century that occupied the same location. Major renovations took place between 1889 and 1919 under the direction of priest Mykolas Migauskas.

The cemetery serves as a memorial space where visitors can see graves of those who died defending Lithuanian independence. The names and stories of these individuals are preserved through inscriptions and monuments that mark the grounds.
