Alantės Manor, Neoclassical manor house in Panevėžys district, Lithuania
Alantės Manor is a stone building displaying neoclassical design features constructed in the latter half of the 19th century. The property consists of several preserved structures surrounded by a park with native oak and black pine trees.
The property was founded in 1696 when Andrejus Širvinskas acquired the land, passing through several owners until Antanas Rudamina took control. Between 1876 and 1884, Rudamina built the current main structure that defines the complex today.
The estate became known for producing fine openwork lace that was sold to international markets in the 19th century. This craft tradition shaped life on the grounds and gave the place recognition beyond the local region.
The grounds are readily accessible for visitors to explore the remaining buildings and the surrounding park area. It is worth allowing time to walk through the green spaces featuring the distinctive trees on the property.
During the Soviet period, family member Emilija Rudaminaitė remained at the estate while other relatives left Lithuania. Her presence there until 1950 helped preserve the property as a family home when many similar estates fell into disrepair.
