Divine Mercy Sanctuary in Vilnius, Gothic church in Old Town, Lithuania
The Divine Mercy Sanctuary features a rectangular structure with two towers and brick walls, incorporating Gothic and Baroque architectural elements throughout its design.
Initially constructed in the 15th century as Holy Trinity Church, the building underwent reconstruction after fires in 1748, adding a new presbytery and towers.
The sanctuary houses the original Divine Mercy painting created by Eugeniusz Kazimirowski in 1934, following the visions of Sister Faustina Kowalska.
Located at Dominikonų Street 12 in Vilnius, the sanctuary offers free admission and maintains regular hours for religious services and individual prayer.
Two rays emerge from Jesus's heart in the Divine Mercy image: red representing blood giving life to souls, white symbolizing water purifying souls.
