Katinų muziejus

Katinų muziejus is a museum in Siauliai dedicated entirely to feline-themed objects from around the world. The collection contains over ten thousand items including statues, paintings, postcards, stamps, ceramics, and crystal figurines.

Vanda Kavaliauskiene founded the museum in 1990, after a cat figurine she received in 1962 sparked a collection that grew too large for her home. This personal passion became the foundation for a dedicated museum space.

The museum shows how much cats matter to Lithuanian culture through the objects on display. You will see artwork and decorative items from artists around the world, each telling a different story about human fascination with felines.

The museum is located on the second floor of a building in central Siauliai and is easy to reach on foot from various parts of the city. Plan to spend enough time to move between the three exhibition halls and view all the displays.

Beyond the cat collections, the museum houses a living section with exotic animals visitors do not typically expect to find. You will encounter pythons, lizards, rats, crocodiles, and a small monkey, making it far more than just a cat-focused space.
