Trijų mergelių tiltas, Pedestrian bridge in Kaunas, Lithuania

The Triju Mergeliu Bridge stretches 388.5 meters across the Nemunas River, connecting Panemune Forest with the Griciupis district at a height of 32 meters.

Built in 1976, the bridge incorporates remaining structural elements that were later used in the construction of the first Nemunas Island Bridge in 1980.

The bridge name originates from local folklore about three maidens who transformed into mermaids and returned to dance on Maiden Island during moonlit nights.

The bridge features separate lanes for pedestrians and cyclists, with renewed lighting systems and reinforced railings following the 2014 renovation project.

Located above the Vilnius-Kaunas railway line, this bridge stands as one of Lithuania's highest pedestrian crossings with its 32-meter elevation.
