D'Coque, Sports and cultural center in Kirchberg, Luxembourg.
The d'Coque features three spherical shells separated by toroidal sections, with a wooden structure spanning 95 meters supported by nine piers.
French architect Roger Taillibert designed this national sports facility, which opened its doors to the public on April 14, 1982.
The indoor arena of 4,300 square meters transforms to accommodate up to 8,000 people for sporting competitions and entertainment performances throughout the year.
The center contains an Olympic swimming pool, six athletics tracks, combat sports areas, two fitness rooms, restaurants, and thirty-one accommodation rooms.
The laminated wooden framework incorporates 5,850 cubic meters of material to create the distinctive organic roof design of the structure.
