Gutmanis Cave, Natural cave formation in Sigulda, Latvia.
The sandstone cave stretches 19 meters deep, 12 meters wide, and 10 meters high, making it the largest cave system in the Baltic region.
Ancient inscriptions carved into the cave walls date back to the 17th century, documenting visitors and local inhabitants through different time periods.
The cave holds the legend of the Turaida Rose, a tale of love and sacrifice during the Polish-Swedish wars involving a young woman named Maija.
Located within Gauja National Park, the cave remains open year-round and features clear pathways with informational signs explaining its geological formation.
The cave walls contain a natural spring, which according to local folklore emerged from the tears of a Liv chieftain's wife.
