Dar Jamaï palace, Islamic art museum in Meknes, Morocco

The Dar Jamaï palace features carved stucco walls, mosaic tilework, and painted wooden ceilings across multiple floors surrounding an orange tree courtyard.

Built in 1882 for the influential Jamaï family, the palace transformed into a military hospital in 1912 and later opened as a museum in 1920.

The museum exhibits Moroccan art collections including ceramics, embroidery, carpets, jewelry, and a minbar from the Lalla Aouda Mosque of the 17th century.

Located at the northern edge of El-Hedim Square, the museum provides visitors access to traditional Moroccan architectural designs and historical artifacts.

The palace contains a large wall fountain from 1913 covered in detailed zellij tilework, facing Place el-Hedim as an entrance focal point.
