Bab er-Robb, City gate in Medina, Marrakesh, Morocco.
Located at the southern edge of the Medina, Bab er-Robb features a bent passage within a bastion, leading from north to north in a 180-degree turn.
The gate dates back to the medieval period, where it regulated the import of cooked wine and served as a strategic control point for city access.
The structure reflects traditional Moroccan architectural elements while functioning as one of nineteen gates that connect the Medina to the outer world.
The gate stands near a transportation hub where Grand Taxis offer rides to Atlas Mountains destinations and the coastal town of Essaouira.
A water basin measuring 70 by 40 meters once existed near the gate, serving as a swimming practice area before being converted into a cemetery.
