Hâncu monastery, Orthodox monastery in Bursuc, Moldova
Hâncu is an Orthodox monastery in Bursuc consisting of two stone churches built in different periods: the summer church dates to 1835 and the winter church to 1841. Both structures serve distinct functions aligned with the liturgical calendar and seasonal practices.
The monastery was founded in 1678 by nobleman Mihalcea Hancu as a women's community. Following Tatar raids, it was later reorganized as a male monastery.
