National Museum of History of Moldova, National museum in Central Chișinău, Moldova.
The National Museum of History of Moldova exhibits over 263,000 artifacts across multiple scientific sections, including Ancient History, Medieval History, and Contemporary History.
Founded in 1983, the museum occupies the former Chisinau Boys' Gymnasia No.1 building, which underwent reconstruction after the 1977 earthquake damage.
The museum maintains extensive collections documenting Moldova's development through archaeological findings, historical documents, and traditional artifacts from prehistoric times to present day.
The exhibition space spans 1,700 square meters and offers educational programs, including workshops where children discover archaeological artifacts in specially designed sand plots.
The museum yard displays a replica of the Capitoline Wolf statue from Rome, connecting Moldova's Latin heritage to its contemporary national identity.
