Ștefan cel Mare Central Park
Ștefan cel Mare Central Park, Urban park in central Chișinău, Moldova
The park extends over 17 acres with numerous fountains, walking paths, benches, and monuments spread throughout its meticulously maintained green spaces.
The Russian Army Engineer Corps established this park in 1818, making it the oldest public garden in Chișinău, later redesigned by architect Alexander Bernardazzi.
The Alley of Classics contains bronze busts of 28 prominent Moldovan and Romanian writers, including national poets Mihai Eminescu and Vasile Alecsandri.
Located between Stefan cel Mare Boulevard and 31 August Street, the park provides direct access to the Government building and Parliament house.
The central monument features Stefan cel Mare statue, constructed using bronze from Ottoman cannons captured during the 1877 War of Independence.
