Isa Bey Mosque, Ottoman mosque in Bit Pazar, Skopje, North Macedonia.
The Isa Bey Mosque is built with two main domes and five smaller domes above its entrance area, constructed on a square foundation. A minaret approximately 30 meters tall, made of rectangular stone blocks, rises from one corner and is visible from various points in the bazaar.
This building was constructed beginning in 1475 under Ishak Beg, a local administrator who funded many structures throughout the bazaar district. It represents one of the major building projects that shaped the area during the Ottoman period.
This mosque serves as a gathering place for the Muslim community, where people come together for daily prayers and religious observances. The site holds meaning for those who practice Islam in the city and connects residents to shared traditions.
The building sits within the Old Bazaar district and is easily accessible on foot from other landmarks in the area. Visitors should wear respectful clothing and be aware that prayer times may affect access to certain sections.
Inside the compound stands a tomb for Pasha Bey, distinguished by its hexagonal shape and vaulted dome. This secondary structure provides a rare example of a burial place for a local dignitary within the religious complex.
