Mingun Pahtodawgyi, Buddhist temple in Sagaing District, Myanmar.

The temple rises 50 meters high with a square base measuring 150 meters on each side, featuring multiple terraces and niches for Buddha statues.

Construction started in 1791 under King Bodawpaya's direction to create the largest stupa globally, but the project stopped after his death in 1819.

Many Buddhist pilgrims visit the temple complex to make offerings and pray among the smaller surrounding pagodas and religious structures.

Visitors can reach the temple by taking a boat ride from Mandalay along the Ayeyarwady River, with local guides available at the site.

An earthquake in 1839 caused substantial damage to the structure, leaving visible cracks that remain part of the temple's current appearance.
