Jerma Palace Hotel

Jerma Palace Hotel is a multi-story building positioned on the Maltese coast that extends horizontally toward the sea with clean geometric lines. The structure contains numerous guest rooms, common areas, and outdoor spaces designed to maximize views of the Mediterranean waters.

The building opened in 1982 as a luxury resort financed by Libyan investors during a period of growing international tourism development in Malta. This construction marked a turning point for Marsaskala, transitioning the area from a small fishing community to a modern holiday destination.

The establishment reshaped Marsaskala by drawing visitors from across the world and anchoring it as a tourism center. Its presence changed how locals experienced their town, shifting it from a quiet seaside settlement to a destination welcoming international guests.

The abandoned structure sits near the water's edge with salt ponds and natural features of the area nearby, making it easy to spot from the main road. Access to the interior is restricted, so viewing is limited to the exterior of the building.
