Church of St Catherine, Żurrieq

The Church of St Catherine is a Baroque parish church in Zuriq featuring a symmetrical stone facade with two bell towers and elaborate architectural details across its exterior surfaces. The interior houses religious artworks and decorative elements throughout its spaces.

Construction of the current structure began in 1630 under architect Fr. Matteolo Saliba and took about a quarter century to complete. The church rose during a time when Baroque style deeply influenced Maltese architecture.
