Erin-Ijesha Waterfalls, Natural waterfall cascade in Osun State, Nigeria

The Erin-Ijesha Waterfalls consists of seven distinct levels of cascading water, with each tier offering different water flow intensities and natural pools.

Princess Akinla, daughter of Oduduwa, discovered the waterfalls in 1140 AD during a seventeen-day journey through forests while searching for a new settlement.

The waterfall holds spiritual importance for local communities who named it Olumirin, meaning another deity, and conduct traditional ceremonies at the site.

Visitors need to pay an entrance fee of 500 Naira and should bring sturdy footwear for climbing the different levels of the waterfall system.

The natural formation includes multiple tiers reaching heights of 40 meters, creating interconnected pools where visitors can swim between climbing sessions.
