Deltapark Neeltje Jans

Deltapark Neeltje Jans is a theme park located on the former artificial island of Neeltje Jans, combining water attractions with marine life exhibits. The facility sits near the Oosterschelde barrier and features an aquarium, water play areas, and sea lion presentations.

After the North Sea flood of 1953, this location began as an information center about Delta Works flood defenses. It evolved into a full entertainment complex in 1986 when new attractions and exhibits were added.

The Delta Experience exhibition teaches visitors about Dutch water management through interactive displays and demonstrations of flood protection systems. People learn how the land has been shaped and defended against the sea throughout history.

The park is easy to navigate on foot with clear signage between different zones and attractions. Visitors should wear comfortable shoes and bring sun protection or rain gear depending on the season.

The aquarium here is the largest in Zeeland province, where visitors can watch tropical sharks glide through transparent tunnels. These underwater passages offer a rare close view of predators that are usually kept at a distance.
