Netherlands Architecture Institute, Architecture museum in Rotterdam, Netherlands
The Netherlands Architecture Institute contains more than 18 kilometers of architectural archives, including drawings, photographs, and models from Dutch architects and planners.
The initial concept for this national architecture museum emerged in 1912, yet the institute officially opened in Rotterdam in 1993 after extensive planning.
The institute features exhibitions exploring architectural developments, urban planning solutions, and design innovations through regular shows and educational programs.
The facility provides full wheelchair access throughout the building and maintains a specialized library containing 60,000 volumes about architecture and urban development.
The Urban Augmented Reality application enables visitors to view historical buildings and future architectural projects through digital overlays of the current cityscape.
