Depot Boijmans van Beuningen, Public art storage facility in Museumpark, Netherlands
The mirrored building measures 39.5 meters high with a diameter of 60 meters and contains fourteen storage compartments for different types of artworks.
The facility opened on November 5, 2021, marking a new era as the first publicly accessible art storage building in the world.
The depot houses over 154,000 artworks from Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen's collection, including paintings, metal objects, photographs, and organic materials.
Visitors can explore the collection independently or join guided tours from Tuesday to Sunday between 11:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
The building incorporates glass elevators and transparent storage areas that allow guests to observe the daily operations of art preservation.
