Collectie Brands

The museum displays thousands of historical objects, from ancient coins and tools to prints and tableware, organized in thematic exhibitions throughout multiple rooms.

Jans Brands, a local collector, accumulated objects for decades in his farmhouse until 2011, when the building was transformed into an official museum.

The collection preserves everyday items and rare artifacts that illustrate the social changes and traditions of Drenthe region through different time periods.

Museum Collectie Brands opens Tuesday through Friday from 11:00 to 17:00, weekends from 13:00 to 17:00, with adult admission at 8.50 euros.

Interactive displays enable visitors to hear recordings of Jans Brands himself explaining the background stories of numerous objects in the collection.
