Bonrepas

Bonrepas extends along a small river with a linear settlement pattern, featuring traditional Dutch farms and residential buildings between the Vlist River and Eerste Wetering.

In 1787, Princess Wilhelmina of Prussia, wife of Stadtholder William V, was detained near Bonrepas along the road from Schoonhoven to Haastrecht.

The hamlet preserves traditional agricultural practices of the South Holland region, with local farmers maintaining centuries-old methods of land management and cultivation.

The settlement maintains a population of approximately 120 residents across its statistical area and lies 11 kilometers southeast of the city of Gouda.

The Bonrepas Windmill stands as a technical monument in the hamlet, positioned within a landscape where the dike protects the polder at 0.3 meters below sea level.
