Tuindorp-West Complex

The Tuindorp-West Complex comprises three identical high-rise buildings with 18 floors each, housing around 1200 student residents. Each room features a personal washbasin, high-speed internet, and access to shared kitchens that serve groups of two to ten people.

The complex was built in the early 1970s and received municipal monument status in 2017. This recognition honored its importance in shaping student housing development in the city.

Residents gather regularly for community events that bring together students from across the different towers and floors. These meetings shape how people experience daily life in the complex and create bonds between neighbors.

The complex is accessible by public transport and has parking available on the grounds. Keep in mind that this is a residential area and access to the buildings may be restricted.

Behind the orange building section, residents can rent small vegetable plots to grow their own produce during the academic year. These gardens offer a surprising way to add greenery and self-sufficiency to student life.
