Landgoed Rhederoord

Landgoed Rhederoord is an estate complex in Rheden featuring nine double workers' houses and additional buildings arranged across its grounds. The site is protected as a national monument and displays traditional Dutch building techniques throughout the property.

The complex was developed in the 1920s as a garden city project reflecting planning principles that shaped residential design in the Netherlands. The workers' houses emerged from the idea of providing quality affordable housing for laborers.

The architectural ensemble demonstrates Dutch craftsmanship through its traditional-ambachtelijke style buildings and structured garden layouts within the Gelderland region.

The grounds offer several walking paths that allow visitors to discover the different buildings and landscaping from various viewpoints. The location is easy to reach and works well for a self-guided exploration walk.

Each house in the complex was designed with individual details, so despite standardization each dwelling differs slightly. This blend of uniformity and subtle variety was characteristic of progressive architecture of that era.
