Al Hijra moskee

Al Hijra mosque is a modern structure with a square minaret and large windows that fill the prayer hall with natural light. The interior provides ample space for communal prayer and religious gatherings.

A former location on Rembrandtstraat served as the mosque from 1982 until its closure in 2018. The new building was then constructed to provide improved facilities for the growing congregation.

The prayer hall features Moroccan wood carving patterns on the walls, reflecting traditional craftsmanship from that region. These decorative elements shape the interior appearance and give the space its distinctive character.

Visitors can explore the spaces with guidance from community members who answer questions about the building and its purpose. Parking is available on site, and shoe storage areas are provided before entering the prayer hall.

The building participates in the Greatest Museum of the Netherlands project, which opens religious sites to the public. This allows people of different faiths to experience religious life and architecture firsthand.
