Watertoren, Water tower in IJmuiden-Noord, Netherlands.
The Water Tower of Velsen stands 42.6 meters tall within the Waterleidingcomplex Evertsenstraat, featuring a storage capacity of 2500 cubic meters.
Constructed between 1914 and 1915, the tower operated until the mid-1980s when the Provincial Water Supply Company of North Holland took control of water distribution.
The structure exhibits elements of expressionist architecture and rationalism, designed by engineers W. de Vrind and D. Drost, with a clock added in 1927.
The water tower has been transformed into residential apartments, while the adjacent filtering building now houses a medical practice and pharmacy.
The complex received national monument status in 2001, preserving its industrial heritage within the park-like environment of Watertorenpark.
