Verkeerspark Assen

Verkeerspark Assen is a traffic-themed amusement park in Assen where children can drive in a safe setting and practice traffic rules. The grounds feature recreated road scenarios including gas stations, roundabouts, and various traffic signs where visitors can test their skills.

The park was established in 1957 as a youth traffic education center and later expanded into a larger learning facility. In recent years it relocated to a new site to provide more space and modern amenities for visitors.

The location draws children and families who want to learn traffic rules through play and hands-on experience. Regular visitors come back to deepen their understanding and tackle new driving challenges.

Visitors should wear casual clothing since they will be driving and steering themselves, and take weather into account as much of the experience is outdoors. It makes sense to visit on a day with decent weather to fully enjoy the outdoor grounds.

Visitors receive an actual certificate signed by local police after successfully completing the driving tasks. Many children keep this document with pride as proof of their newly gained skills.
